Why I'm Different From The Others
1. Leadership in Public Service
I have spent years serving our community in leadership roles that focus on real, everyday challenges facing Tuolumne County. As a manager at County Behavioral Health and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, I work directly with some of our most vulnerable residents—including those experiencing homelessness, those in our jail system, and individuals struggling with mental health challenges. This work has given me firsthand insight into the complex issues our county faces and the practical solutions needed to address them.
I also bring years of governance experience through my service on local boards, including as a Director for a local water company and as a board member for my community’s Property Owner Association. In these roles, I’ve helped balance budgets, make difficult policy decisions, and oversee infrastructure projects while protecting the public interests and the natural beauty that makes our county special.
2. Showing Up for the Community
I believe leadership means being present where it matters. You’ll find me serving meals at the Christmas Eve Community Meal, volunteering at the Tobacco and Trash Cleanup, planting trees, attending local events, and participating in discussions on issues like transportation and mental health. I also attend educational opportunities such as Firewise events to learn best practices for safety and fire prevention.
Being visible and engaged helps me understand our community’s needs and connect with neighbors through real conversations. I don’t believe leadership happens from behind a desk—it means showing up, listening, and working alongside the community.
3. Protecting Our Community’s Quality of Life
I’m committed to preserving what makes Tuolumne County special—our neighborhoods, open spaces, and local businesses. I advocate for responsible land use that protects agriculture and ranching, support for local entrepreneurs, and recreational areas that are accessible to all. I focus on practical solutions that protect our county’s character while ensuring families can live, work, and enjoy life here.
4. Listening, Collaborating, and Delivering Results
What sets me apart other than my experience is my dedication to listening and working with the community. I foster strong feedback loops, ensuring residents’ concerns are heard, not swept under the rug. By collaborating with local organizations, government agencies, and neighbors, I take ideas from the community and turn them into policies that work. I combine compassion, experience, and hands-on involvement to create results that benefit everyone.
